#ThatGirlNeedsAKidney Televised

In May, I was interviewed by Chris Gordon with NBC4 Washington regarding organ donations during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Each day, I am fighting to stay alive.

Each day, I am searching for a Living Kidney Donor.

Even during this pandemic, I'm hopeful that I will receive a kidney transplant.

If you are interested in giving the gift of life through organ donation, please call me directly at 571-312- 3265 or email ThatGirlNeedsAKidney@gmail.com.

Visit www.barnesjewish.org/Medical-Services/Transplant/Kidney-Transplant and click on “How to Become a Living Donor” for more information. You can also call the Living Donor Department at 314-362-5365 ext. 4 or email gs-prekidneyxplant@bjc.org. #ThatGirlNeedsAKidney Wears The Mask

“I don’t have the luxury to choose not to wear a mask.”~ Malkia S. White I am required to wear a mask because my immune system is compromised due to End Stage Renal Disease. My caregivers are required to wear masks because they are in direct contact with me. “COVID-19 is a virus that mainly spreads by respiratory droplets when a person with COVID-19 coughs or sneezes. To prevent spreading the virus: cover coughs and sneezes, clean your hands, stay at least 6 feet away from others, and wear a face covering or face mask when in public.” ~ BJC HealthCare For your viewing pleasure, #ThatGirlNeedsAKidneyMom & #ThatGirlNeedsAKidneyDad demonstrate the proper procedure for putting the mask on and taking the mask off, in the latest #ThatGirlNeedsAKidneyFilm.

DIALYSIS DURING THE TIME OF COVID-19

”Dialysis patients should NOT stop their treatments during the COVID-19 outbreak. To protect dialysis patients from the coronavirus, which causes the disease, COVID-19, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) have given dialysis centers new information to stop the virus from spreading. Dialysis patients are at a high risk for serious complications, even death, from the virus.”
