VEHICLE OF COMPASSION -- May 2013

HE IS RISEN were the words on the church marquee, as we posed for our photograph. We chatted in the parking lot for nearly an hour catching up on life events. As we concluded our conversation, she shared these encouraging words with me: pray with expectancy!

That was just fifteen days ago, but this month's Vehicle of Compassion has been sharing encouraging words with me for the past seven years. She's offered encouragement to me through Bible Study lessons, music meditation, prayer, and the "greeting card ministry." One particular card she gave me is on my dressing table, and a portion of it quotes 1 Thessalonians 1:4, The Message, "...God not only loves you very much but also has put His hand on you for something special."

She is more than "something special"--she is a high-powered cheerleader for the LORD and she has taught me the importance of maintaining genuine communication with the LORD through a proactive prayer life.
